Opportunities to Learn and Grow
Several opportunities to learn and grow are available at Newton First United Methodist Church.
Children
Kids' J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) is a Sunday morning Christian education experience for pre-school and elementary age children. The classes use a vareity of methods to teach the lesson each week. Classes meet from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.
Discovery Kids is a Wednesday evening Christian education experience for elementary age children. Discovery Kids meet 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Youth
Middle School and Sr. High Youth Groups meet on Wednesday evenings 6:30 p.m to 8:00 p.m. The youth groups start out together in the Sanctuary for worship and praise, and then go to their respective rooms for a lesson and other activities.
Middle School Creative Arts, a class for middle school youth meets third floor in the Activity Room at 10:00 am.
Adults
For adults small groups provide a setting for spiritual formation, learning, fellowship, mutual encouragement and support. Groups are available that meet on different evenings of the week.
Sunday School classes for adults meet on Sunday mornings. The Dubble Builders class meets from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Ages & Stages class meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Three United Methodist Women Circles meet on the second Wednesday of each month.
Periodically, short term classes for adults will be held for adults on Wednesday evenings.
